Operation: Dart Storm doubles the attack speed of both the dart volleys and the anti-MOAB missiles, raises the volley from 12 to 16 darts, and increases missile damage from 18 to 24. Put together, that is a big jump in both cleanup and blimp damage for $3,300.

When to buy it

Dart Storm is a solid mid-game upgrade, especially on maps with obstacles such as Ravine where ground towers lose line of sight. The plane covers the whole map, so it helps on long or twisting tracks where a single-lane defense leaks.

It is also the step before Sky Shredder, so buying it early lets the tower contribute while you save up.

Typical crosspaths:

• 4-0-2: Sharper Darts raises dart pierce from 5 to 8, which is the biggest boost to general cleanup. Centered Path adds control over where the plane flies.
• 4-2-0: Spy Plane adds camo detection and double camo damage, and the pineapple crosspath adds splash to the missiles. Good when you lack camo support.

Its many projectiles per volley also make it a strong target for an Alchemist's Berserker Brew.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as a mid-game damage source on awkward maps or as part of a Sky Shredder plan. It will not hold the late game alone, and dense ceramic rushes still need help from other towers.
