How to use Sharper Darts
Sharper Darts raises the pierce of every Monkey Ace dart from 5 to 8, so each dart can pop more bloons before it disappears. If the plane has Exploding Pineapple, pineapples and bombs also gain 12 pierce: 20 becomes 32, and Ground Zero or Tsar Bomba bombs go from 40 to 52.
When to buy it
As a standalone upgrade it only shines when pierce is the bottleneck, such as early races and Time Attack. Its main job is as a crosspath:
- Operation: Dart Storm and Sky Shredder (4-0-1, 5-0-2): probably the most important crosspath for cleanup. With 16 or 32 darts per volley, each extra point of pierce adds up fast.
- Bomber Ace and Ground Zero (0-3-1, 0-4-1): more pierce per bomb, useful in races where dense waves are common.
It is also the first step toward Centered Path and Neva-Miss Targeting, so every bottom-path Ace goes through it.
Is it worth it?
Yes, on top-path Aces it is close to mandatory once you reach tier 4. On middle-path Aces it is a decent but optional pick compared with Rapid Fire. Early in a game, $500 is better spent on more damage elsewhere unless you are already building toward Neva-Miss.
