How to use Spy Plane

Spy Plane gives every Monkey Ace attack camo detection and doubles damage against camo bloons. The only exception is the anti-MOAB missiles from Fighter Plane and later, which do not get the bonus. It is the only way for the Ace to see camo on its own.

When to buy it

In most normal games another tower or a Monkey Village already handles camo detection, so Spy Plane is a niche pick. It becomes important when:

  • You are playing a mode or event where outside camo support is limited, such as Least Tiers or Contested Territory tiles.
  • You are fighting Phayze in boss events, where built-in camo detection matters.
  • You run Bomber Ace or Ground Zero. Their bombs inherit the double camo damage, which helps them shred camo ceramics.

Common crosspaths using it are 0-2-3 or 0-2-4 (Neva-Miss or Spectre with camo), 4-2-0 or 5-2-0 on the top path, and every middle-path build.

Is it worth it?

If you need the Ace to handle camo on its own, it is cheap at $350. If camo is already covered by a Village or Monkey Intelligence, put your money into Sharper Darts or Centered Path instead.
