4 And 4 is a third-row Primary knowledge that makes Triple Shot and its upgrades fire four projectiles instead of three on every fourth attack. You need 5 Knowledge Points spent in the Primary tree and Crossbow Reach. It costs one point and unlocks Master Double Cross.

Over four shots, a Triple Shot fires 13 darts instead of 12, roughly 8% more projectiles.

How it changes the game

The bonus applies to every tower on the Dart Monkey middle path from tier 3:

• Triple Shot (0-3-x): about 8% more darts over time, which helps it hold the mid game on its own.
• Super Monkey Fan Club (0-4-x): the Dart Monkey's normal attack gets the extra projectile every fourth shot.
• Plasma Monkey Fan Club (0-5-x): same as above, on its normal attack.
• Apex Plasma Master: the Dart Monkey Paragon also benefits (it has since version 38).

There is one exception: while the Fan Club abilities are active and the Dart Monkeys are transformed, 4 And 4 does not apply. It also does nothing for the top and bottom paths, and it does not change pierce, damage or attack speed. Since Extra Dart Pops gives every dart +1 pierce, the extra dart also carries that bonus.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good. The buff itself is modest. What makes 4 And 4 an important node is its place in the tree: it is the only way to Master Double Cross, and from there to Come On Everybody!, Bonus Monkey! and More Cash. Since free starting towers and +$200 cash help every single game, nearly every account goes through 4 And 4.

Its sibling Force vs Force is a dead end with a narrower effect, so 4 And 4 is the one to buy first.

Because the bonus is one extra dart every fourth volley, it scales with attack speed. Monkey Village, Alchemist or hero buffs that make Triple Shot fire faster also make the fourth-shot bonus come around more often.

Where it works

4 And 4 works wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled: Standard, Impoppable, Primary Only, Races and Boss Events, where the Apex Plasma Master gets the bonus too. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
