Backroom Deals makes the IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics abilities pay $10,000 instead of $9,000, and lowers the share of your income that goes to repaying an IMF Loan from 50% to 40%. It is a fourth-row Support knowledge: it needs 3 points in Support and Bigger Banks, plus a one-time fee of 250 Monkey Money the first time you unlock it.

How it changes the game

The IMF Loan (0-4-0 Banana Farm) has an ability that lends you cash right away, and while you are in debt part of every dollar you earn goes to paying it back. Backroom Deals improves both sides: the loan is bigger, and while you repay it you keep 60% of your income instead of 50%. If you use the loan again while still in debt, each extra use gives $6,000 of usable cash instead of $4,500.

That makes the IMF Loan much better as an emergency button. Taking a loan right before a hard round, such as an early ceramic rush or a big blimp round, now costs you less of your future income.

Monkey-Nomics (0-5-0) has no debt at all, so for it Backroom Deals is a straight $1,000 extra per ability use. Since the ability can be used a couple of times per round on a short cooldown, that adds up fast in long freeplay and Boss Events.

Backroom Deals does nothing in the early game unless you rush an IMF Loan, which is uncommon. Its value starts in the mid game and grows with every loan you take.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good. If you play with banks, it is a clear buy. If you do not, you still need it: Backroom Deals is the only way to Better Sell Deals, which is one of the best general knowledges in the tree, and then to Bank Deposits.

In the fourth row, To ARMS! leads to the attack speed and Paragon knowledge, and Inland Revenue Streams leads to Healthy Bananas. Economy players usually take Backroom Deals first; Boss Event players often prioritise To ARMS!.

Where it works

Backroom Deals is active in every mode where Monkey Knowledge is on, including Impoppable and Boss Events. It has no effect in CHIMPS, which disables MK and income. Challenges that switch MK off and Rogue Legends use the normal loan values.
