Bank Deposits
Bank Deposits in BTD6 lets you deposit cash into IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics. How much one click deposits, the interest delay and the best way to use it.
Tier 4 and above Monkey Banks can take deposits from available in game cash.
Guide
Bank Deposits adds a Deposit button to the IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics, so you can move your own cash into the bank's balance and let it earn interest. It is in the bottom row of the Support tree: you need 14 points spent in Support and Better Sell Deals, plus a one-time fee of 1,000 Monkey Money. Plain 0-3-0 Monkey Banks cannot take deposits; only tier 4 and tier 5 banks can.
How it changes the game
Each click deposits half of the bank's remaining space, or all of your cash if you have less than that. For example, an IMF Loan holding $1,000 has $11,500 of space left (with Bigger Banks its cap is $12,500), so one click deposits $5,750. You can click again to fill more, each time taking half of what is left.
The important rule is the delay: deposited cash does not earn interest at the very next end of round. It starts earning from the round after. So depositing only pays off if you can leave the money in for at least two rounds.
How to use it well:
- Deposit spare cash you will not need for a few rounds, for example in the middle of a long round when your defence is already holding.
- Leave it in until the balance is close to the cap, then collect.
- Do not deposit before rounds where you might need emergency cash, unless you also have the IMF Loan ability ready.
Used this way, banks turn idle cash into more cash, which speeds up late-game economy and freeplay saving. It pairs well with Backroom Deals and Bigger Banks, which raise loan value and capacity.
Is it worth it?
Priority: good, and a must-have for bank strategies. If you build IMF Loans or Monkey-Nomics, deposits are a significant economy boost. If you never use banks, the knowledge does nothing, but its 14-point and 1,000 Monkey Money cost is only paid once.
In the bottom row it sits next to Paragon of Power. Boss Event and Paragon players should take Paragon of Power first. Economy and long-freeplay players should get Bank Deposits first.
Where it works
Bank Deposits works in every mode where Monkey Knowledge and income are allowed, including Impoppable and Boss Events. It does nothing in CHIMPS, where MK and income are off, or in Deflation, where there is no income. Challenges with MK disabled and Rogue Legends do not have the button.
