In-game description

Guide

Elite Military Training is a first-row Military knowledge that helps you unlock Military upgrades faster. The first time you buy it, every Military tower receives a one-time bonus of 1,000 Tower XP, and from then on all Military towers earn 5% more Tower XP. It has no prerequisite, costs one Knowledge Point, and unlocks Ceramic Shock.

Tower XP is the per-tower experience you earn by using a tower in games. It is spent to unlock that tower's upgrades and, for most towers, eventually leads to their Paragon unlock requirements.

How it changes the game

This knowledge does nothing inside a match. Its effect is on your account progression:

  • The +1,000 XP goes to every Military tower: Sniper Monkey, Monkey Sub, Monkey Buccaneer, Monkey Ace, Heli Pilot, Mortar Monkey and Dartling Gunner. On a newer account, that can unlock several low and mid-tier upgrades straight away.
  • The +5% XP rate speeds up every future game with Military towers. It adds up over hundreds of games, especially when grinding the XP needed for tier 5 upgrades.
  • Permanent: disabling Monkey Knowledge later does not take the XP back. However, after a respec, buying it again does not grant the 1,000 XP a second time.

Military Conscription, much deeper in the tree, also gives a one-time 1,000 XP to Military towers on first unlock, even though its description does not mention it.

Once every Military upgrade is unlocked on your account, the XP part has no further effect, and the knowledge only matters as the parent of Ceramic Shock.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good for newer accounts, a gateway for veterans. If you are still unlocking Military upgrades, the 1,000 XP is a nice jump-start and the 5% rate keeps paying off. If your Military towers are fully unlocked, you still buy it because Ceramic Shock, Cheaper Maiming, Master Defender and Big Bloon Sabotage all depend on this column.

Compared with Naval Upgrades, it has no in-game power, so take Naval Upgrades first if you want immediate strength.

Where it works

Because the XP is granted to your account, the one-time bonus applies regardless of mode. The 5% XP rate applies in games where Monkey Knowledge is enabled; it does nothing in CHIMPS or in challenges that turn knowledge off. Remember that some modes and events give no Tower XP at all, in which case there is nothing to multiply.

Frequently asked questions

What does Elite Military Training do?

It gives every Military tower 1,000 Tower XP once and makes them earn 5% more XP from then on.

No. The one-time bonus is only granted the first time you unlock it.

Does disabling Monkey Knowledge remove the XP?

No. XP already granted stays on your towers.

Not directly, but it is required for Ceramic Shock and the knowledge below it.

Does it make towers stronger in a game?

No. It only affects Tower XP.
