Monkey Knowledge
Monkey Education
Monkey Education in BTD6 gives towers and heroes 8% more XP. What it means for upgrades, hero levels and the path to Veteran Monkey Training.
All Monkeys XP earn rate increased by 8%.
Guide
Monkey Education increases the XP your towers and heroes earn by 8%. That covers two things: the tower XP your monkeys collect each round to unlock new upgrades in the Upgrades menu, and the XP your hero gains in a game to level up. It is a third-row Support knowledge with no parent knowledge; you only need 3 points spent anywhere in the Support tree. It costs one Knowledge Point and no Monkey Money.
How it changes the game
For heroes, 8% more XP means reaching key levels a little earlier. That can be the difference between Quincy getting his lead-popping explosive arrows (level 7) in time for round 28, or Sauda reaching the level where she pops every bloon type, without having to buy levels with cash. It also makes manually buying hero levels cheaper, since each level needs less extra XP. Slow-levelling heroes such as Captain Churchill and Adora benefit the most.
For towers, the bonus speeds up unlocking upgrades on your account. That is valuable on a new account or after a new tower is released, and it helps when you are working through a long upgrade tree. Once every upgrade of a tower is unlocked, the tower XP part does nothing for that tower.
The bonus stacks with the Heroes tree knowledge Self Taught Heroes (+10% hero XP) and Monkeys Together Strong. Together they make a big difference to how fast heroes level on Beginner maps, where hero XP is lowest.
Is it worth it?
Priority: good. The XP bonus alone is decent for anyone who uses heroes, which is almost everyone. The bigger reason to buy it is the knowledge below it: To ARMS! leads to Veteran Monkey Training and Global Ability Cooldowns, and Veteran Monkey Training leads to Paragon of Power. That is the most valuable chain in the Support tree for late game and Boss Events.
Compared with the other third-row knowledge (Bigger Banks, Farm Subsidy, Vigilant Sentries), Monkey Education is the one that helps every game regardless of your strategy. Take it as soon as you have 3 points in Support.
Where it works
Monkey Education works in every mode where Monkey Knowledge is active. It is off in CHIMPS, so hero level timings there are the base ones; keep that in mind when you copy a CHIMPS strategy that relies on a hero level. Challenges with MK disabled, some Odyssey maps and Rogue Legends also run without it.
