Sky Shredder

Sky Shredder turns the Ace into a global-range dart machine. Each volley now fires 32 darts instead of 16, and volleys come twice as fast, from every 0.63 seconds to every 0.315 seconds. Dart damage rises from 1 to 3 with an extra 2 against ceramics, and base pierce goes from 5 to 8. Darts also fly three times faster. The anti-MOAB missiles jump from 24 to 150 damage, gain a point of pierce and fire every 1.5 seconds. Every attack switches to the Normal damage type, so lead, black and white bloons are no longer a problem.

When to buy it

Sky Shredder costs $42,500 on Medium, so it is a late-game purchase in most runs. Players usually transition from Operation: Dart Storm once the economy supports it, often in the 70s or 80s of a CHIMPS game, or earlier on easier difficulties.

Both crosspaths are viable:

• 5-0-2: Sharper Darts adds pierce for better cleanup, and Centered Path lets you keep the plane circling over the busiest part of the track. Best for raw damage.
• 5-2-0: Spy Plane gives camo detection and double camo damage, and the pineapples gain ceramic bonus damage. Pick it when you do not have reliable camo support.

Micro and support

Sky Shredder has a high skill ceiling. Its damage is decent on autopilot but excellent when you change flight paths to keep it over the bloons. It benefits strongly from buffs that scale with projectile count, such as Berserker Brew. It still leaks a few stray bloons at times, so pair it with cleanup. Rosalia is a good hero partner because she adds damage, knockback and a 10% discount to nearby Aces.

Is it worth it?

Sky Shredder is a flexible global-range tier 5 that works on almost any map, including ones where line of sight shuts down ground towers. In CHIMPS it is a solid late-game carry when supported by cleanup. In boss events it is usually not the main boss killer, but it is a common source of pops when you plan to build the Goliath Doomship Paragon. Against heavy ZOMG and BAD waves it needs extra single-target damage.
