Glaive Ricochet

Glaive Ricochet changes how the Boomerang Monkey attacks. Glaives are now thrown in a straight line, have 15 pierce (45 with the Extra Bounce Monkey Knowledge) and jump from bloon to bloon as long as the next target is within 80 units. If there is no bloon in reach, the glaive disappears. Glaives fly faster and pass through line-of-sight blockers, although the monkey still needs to see its first target.

When to buy it

Glaive Ricochet is a cheap early-game cleanup tower. On single-lane maps it chases down leftovers very well, but it falls off when lanes are far apart. Each hit only does 1 damage, so it struggles against ceramics and anything tougher.

• 3-0-2 is the best crosspath. Red Hot Rangs gives 2 damage and the normal damage type, so it pops lead and skips layers.
• 3-2-0 adds attack speed (0.6 second cooldown) but keeps it unable to pop lead.

It is also excellent in Races thanks to its pierce, especially with Extra Bounce.

Is it worth it?

Yes for early game and Races. It is one of the best value cleanup towers at this price, but plan for a ceramic answer by the mid game.
