How to use Faster Barrel Spin
Faster Barrel Spin cuts the Dartling's attack cooldown by about a third, from 0.2 seconds to 0.132 seconds, which is roughly 50% more shots. Together with Advanced Targeting, it also brings camo detection.
When to buy it
It is a good damage boost on low-tier Dartlings, and the best crosspath for the top path:
- 3-2-0, 4-2-0, 5-2-0: Laser Cannon, Plasma Accelerator and Ray of Doom already have plenty of pierce, so extra speed is what raises their damage.
On the bottom path, it is an option (0-2-3, 0-2-4, 0-2-5): it scales better with buffs and makes shots more consistent, but it gives up the accurate extra damage of the Laser Shock crosspath.
It also leads into Hydra Rocket Pods, the start of the strong middle path.
Is it worth it?
Yes. For $950 on Medium it is one of the most valuable crosspaths on the tower, especially for any top-path build.
