Plasma Accelerator

Plasma Accelerator replaces the lasers with a continuous beam that reaches from the Dartling to your cursor. The beam attacks every 0.2 seconds for 1 damage with 50 pierce, and the wider tip deals 2 damage with +10 against MOAB-class bloons. Everything hit gets shocked for 5 seconds, and the damage type becomes Plasma, so it can now pop lead.

With Powerful Darts the beam gains 100 pierce and becomes 50% wider. With the Cross the Streams Monkey Knowledge, plasma pools form every half second where two beams cross.

When to buy it

Plasma Accelerator is strong for its $11,750 price through the first 80 rounds, but it needs active micro: most of its damage is at the beam tip, so keep the cursor on the leading bloons or blimp.

Crosspaths:

• 4-2-0: usually the stronger choice. The extra attack speed raises damage and adds camo detection.
• 4-0-2: much more pierce, a wider beam and faster turning, which makes it easier to control and better against very dense waves.

Limits

From round 81, super ceramics make it fall off. It works more as supporting blimp damage after that, so plan other towers for super ceramics.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as a mid-game carry if you are happy to micro. It is also the step to Ray of Doom.
