How to use Powerful Darts
Powerful Darts adds 2 pierce to the Dartling's darts, makes its projectiles faster and larger, and, if the Dartling cannot already pop frozen bloons, changes its damage type to Shatter. It also boosts the pierce of higher upgrades, and for Hydra Rocket Pods and above it enlarges the blast radius as well.
When to buy it
On a low-tier Dartling, Powerful Darts noticeably improves early-game group popping.
As a crosspath:
- Middle path (0-3-2, 0-4-2): Hydra and Rocket Storm gain 2 pierce on both missiles and explosions, plus bigger blasts. Good when you want more pierce than accuracy.
- Top path (4-0-2): Plasma Accelerator gets +100 pierce and a 50% wider beam. Still, most top-path builds prefer the attack speed of Faster Barrel Spin.
- Laser Cannon (3-0-2): pierce rises to 9.
It is also the required step toward Buckshot.
Is it worth it?
Yes, as a crosspath on Hydra and Rocket Storm, and as the step into the bottom path. On top-path builds, Faster Barrel Spin is usually the better crosspath.
