How to use Overclock
Overclock adds an ability that supercharges one tower you pick, giving it +66.67% attack speed. On a Monkey Village it adds +10% range instead. The buff lasts between 30 and 60 seconds depending on the target's highest upgrade tier, with full uptime on tier 4 towers, and 30 seconds on Heroes. The Engineer itself also gets +12 pierce on its nails (15 total) and more foam pierce.
When to buy it
Overclock is strongest when your defense relies on a few very strong towers rather than many weak ones.
- On tier 5 towers it averages about a 44% damage boost, since the buff does not quite last the full cooldown.
- High-damage targets such as Dark Champion, or an Orca or Tyrannosaurus Rex at max Beast Power, get huge value.
- Heroes such as Adora and Captain Churchill benefit, as do blimp-knockback heroes like Pat Fusty and Rosalia (level 5+).
- For farming, one Overclock per Banana Research Facility raises it from 5 to 9 crates per round, about 80% more cash.
Use 0-4-2 for extra foam pierce, or 2-4-0 for faster foam and sentries.
Is it worth it?
Yes. It is one of the best support towers in the game, in CHIMPS as much as in farming games, as long as you have a strong target worth boosting.
