How to use Master Builder

The Master Builder is the Engineer Monkey's Paragon, combining Sentry Champion, Ultraboost and XXXL Trap. It is part damage dealer, part support tower, and its biggest value is boosting other Paragons.

The Master Builder fires three nails at a time that pin any Bloon except BADs and Boss Bloons, and at the end of each round it applies an Ultraboost-style permanent attack speed boost to itself. It, its Mega Sentries and their sub-sentries can all detect Camo.

It has two activated abilities:

  • Mega Sentry: deploys one of three Mega Sentries anywhere on the map. The Green Sentry Paragon fires a constant laser with infinite range that can follow your cursor or stay locked in place. The Red Sentry Paragon sprays four streams of plasma in a cone. The Blue Sentry Paragon fires missiles that hit MOAB-class Bloons hard and explode on every Bloon they pierce. Each Mega Sentry also spawns temporary Modified Sentry Paragons every 6 seconds, which explode when they expire or are sold.
  • Power Glove: a stronger Overclock that can target any tower except itself, including other Paragons, and also creates a smaller aura that briefly boosts nearby towers. The boost lasts much longer on normal towers than on Paragons.

You can have one of each Mega Sentry at a time. Selling a Mega Sentry, or placing another of the same color, detonates it together with all its sub-sentries, which deals massive damage, especially to Boss Bloons. Selling the Master Builder detonates all of them at once. Note that the Green and Red Mega Sentries cannot pop Purple or Glass Bloons.

How to unlock and build it

Unlock the Paragon with Engineer XP, then place three tier 5 Engineers at the same time: a Sentry Champion, an Ultraboost and an XXXL Trap. Buy the Paragon from any of them. It costs $600,000 on Medium; every difficulty price is on this page. Paragon prices cannot be discounted, and every other Engineer on the map is absorbed when you buy it.

Degree and how to raise it

Degree runs from 1 to 100 and improves damage, pierce, attack speed and ability cooldowns. It comes from:

  • Cash spent on absorbed Engineers, plus any extra cash added with the slider.
  • Extra tier 5 Engineers beyond the required three.
  • Damage dealt and income earned by absorbed Engineers.
  • Paragon Power Totems.

For the Master Builder, income is the easy route. An XXXL Trap with Rubber to Gold, Monkey City and Bounty Hunter boosts piles up trap income, which counts toward power. Ultraboosts and Overclocks on farms can raise income further before you merge.

A high degree matters: it speeds up the self-boost, makes sentry detonations hit harder, and shortens the Power Glove cooldown. Even at degree 100, Power Glove cannot keep a single Paragon boosted all the time, so time it with that Paragon's big ability.

Best uses

  • Boosting other Paragons: this is the main reason to build it. Power Glove works best on expensive, high-damage Paragons such as Goliath Doomship, Magus Perfectus and Mega Massive Munitions Factory. On Magus Perfectus, aim to have it ready whenever Arcane Metamorphosis is.
  • Timed and Least Tiers Boss Events: Mega Sentry detonations deliver big burst damage.
  • Boosting groups of tier 5s: the Power Glove aura helps a tight cluster of strong towers.

Best boss matchup: Bloonarius. Worst: Blastapopoulos, because the Mega Sentries struggle with its Purple layers.

Is it worth it?

As a support Paragon in boss events where you already have one or more other Paragons, yes. As your only Paragon, its own damage is decent but not top tier, so most players build it second, after their main damage Paragon.
