How to use Ultraboost
Ultraboost replaces Overclock with a stronger ability. It still applies the full Overclock effect, and on top of that every use gives the target a permanent stack that cuts its attack cooldown by 4% (and adds 1.5% range on Villages). Stacks are additive and cap at 10 per tower, for a permanent 40% cooldown reduction, the same as +66.67% attack speed, even when the active buff is not running. Banana Farms get the permanent stacks too, so they produce more cash forever.
Key numbers:
- 35-second cooldown, and the buff lasts 60 seconds on every tower and Hero regardless of tier.
- Each Engineer can use it at most 10 times per round.
- Buying Ultraboost puts the ability on full cooldown, so use Overclock one last time before upgrading.
- Overclock and Ultraboost active buffs do not stack with each other, but both stack with the permanent bonus.
When to buy it
Because of its price ($72,000 on Medium), Ultraboost is rarely worth it in normal games to round 100. It shines in long games:
- Boss Events and Freeplay, where you can stall rounds and spread 10 stacks across several towers.
- Your strongest towers first, such as a Vengeful True Sun God, then other key tier 5s.
- Banana Central and Banana Research Facilities in farming builds, because the permanent stacks keep paying.
How it compares
- Overclock gives the same active boost for far less money, so in CHIMPS and shorter games Overclock is usually the better buy.
- Sentry Champion is a damage tier 5, and XXXL Trap an income and anti-blimp one. Ultraboost is purely support.
Is it worth it?
For Boss Events and Freeplay, yes, it is one of the most valuable support upgrades because its effect never runs out. For standard CHIMPS, the cost rarely pays back before the game ends.
