Sentry Expert

Sentry Expert replaces the basic sentries with four specialized types: Crushing, Boom, Cold and Energy sentries. By default it spawns them in that order, but it adapts to what is on screen, prioritizing or skipping types depending on the Bloons and sentries already present.

When to buy it

Sentry Expert is a decent mid-game damage tower because the mix of sentry types covers many Bloon properties at once. Its weakness is the spawning logic: on rounds where the Bloon mix changes faster than it can redeploy, such as rounds 50 and 53, it can place the wrong sentries. Stalling such as MOAB Shove helps it keep up.

• 4-2-0 adds damage against blimps and Fortified, and is the crosspath you want if you plan to reach Sentry Champion.
• 4-0-2 gives a large pierce boost to every sentry and Pin helps hold Rainbows and lower, which is good in the mid-game.

Is it worth it?

It is a reasonable mid-game option and the required step to Sentry Champion. In CHIMPS, it works as part of a defense but should not be your only damage source in the 50s.
