Oversize Nails (0-0-1) adds +5 nail pierce and Shatter damage that pops Frozen Bloons, plus pierce bonuses for sentries and foam.
Massivization allows nails to pop 8 Bloons at once, including frozen. Also increases Foam and Sentry effectiveness.

How to use Oversize Nails
Oversize Nails adds +5 pierce to the nailgun and switches its damage type to Shatter instead of Sharp, so it can pop Frozen Bloons. The nails do not actually get bigger. As a crosspath it also helps other attacks: Sentry Gun gets +1 pierce and Shatter damage, Sentry Expert sentries get +50% pierce, Champion Sentries get more pierce and bigger explosions, and the foam from Cleansing Foam, Overclock and Ultraboost gets extra pierce.
When to buy it
It is a cheap and broad improvement:
- On Sprockets and Sentry Expert, extra sentry pierce helps mid-game cleanup.
- With freezing towers, including Sentry Expert's own Cold Sentries, Shatter damage avoids frozen Bloons blocking your nails.
- On Cleansing Foam, Overclock and Ultraboost, more foam pierce strips properties from denser groups.
It is the first step to Pin, which most bottom crosspath Engineers want.
Is it worth it?
Yes, as a crosspath and as the start of the bottom path. On Sentry Champion, Deconstruction is usually the better pick for damage.
