How to use Larger Service Area
Larger Service Area increases the range of every Engineer attack by 20, taking it to 60 (base range is 40). Sentries get +4 range, but they can also be placed farther from the Engineer. With Bloon Trap, it lets you set exactly where the trap is placed anywhere in range, and the trap is collected automatically once its cooldown passes.
When to buy it
The standalone range boost is only a small help. Its real value is in crosspaths:
- Bloon Trap and XXXL Trap: being able to move the trap away from the nailgun stops the Engineer stealing pops from it, and auto-collect means you do not have to click. This is a big boost to trap income.
- Deconstruction: it is required on the way there anyway.
The wider sentry placement can sometimes hurt top path Engineers, because sentries spread out more randomly.
Is it worth it?
Yes on trap builds. On top path sentry builds, take it only if you want Deconstruction.
