How to use Cripple MOAB
Cripple MOAB is the top path tier 5 Sniper Monkey. Its bullets now deal 140 damage, explode for 28 damage on up to 10 nearby Bloons, and every hit on a MOAB-class Bloon applies a longer stun plus a cripple debuff. Crippled Bloons take +5 damage from every source.
Stun and debuff durations per bullet:
- MOAB: 7 seconds.
- BFB: 6 seconds.
- ZOMG: 3 seconds.
- DDT (if visible): 4 seconds.
- BAD and Boss Bloons: no stun, but the debuff lasts 0.75 seconds.
With Shrapnel Shot, shrapnel applies about two thirds of these durations and hits much harder. From round 150 the stun gets shorter, but the debuff does not.
When to buy it
The debuff is the real reason to buy Cripple MOAB. A flat +5 damage per hit is huge for towers that fire many weak projectiles, such as Overdrive, Sun Avatar and Bloonjitsu with Shinobi Tactics. That makes it a top pick for:
- Boss Events from tier 2 upwards and Boss Rush.
- Freeplay, where the debuff matters far more than its own damage.
Keep it on Strong targeting. Against Dreadbloon use First so it does not waste shots on the rock Bloons.
- 5-0-2 is better in CHIMPS and against most bosses. With Jungle Drums or Berserker Brew it can keep the debuff on a BAD or boss all the time.
- 5-2-0 is better against Phayze, which needs built-in Camo detection, and in Freeplay, where crippling groups through shrapnel beats single-target speed.
Is it worth it?
In boss events and Freeplay, absolutely. In CHIMPS it is a weaker choice: as a solo damage tower it falls behind other tier 5s at a similar price and can struggle with the BAD. Buy it when you have a strong fast-firing tower that the debuff can multiply.
