How to use Ring of Fire
Ring of Fire replaces the tacks with a ring of fire around the tower. It fires twice as often as before (every 0.315 seconds), deals 5 damage (6 with More Tacks, 7 with Even More Tacks) and hits up to 30 bloons per burst (45 with Super Range Tacks). The ring grows with range buffs. The fire damage type cannot pop purple bloons, and because it is now a single burst instead of many tacks, it deals less damage to MOAB-class bloons.
When to buy it
Ring of Fire is a strong mid-game cleanup tower. High damage per hit lets it skip layers, and it reliably pops every non-purple bloon that passes through it. It is excellent in Races and against the spawns of Bloonarius. It lacks blimp damage and starts to fall off around round 81, when super ceramics appear.
- 4-2-0 is recommended. The pierce increase to 45 and the bigger ring improve its cleanup of dense groups.
- 4-0-2 adds 2 damage per hit for better single-target damage.
Gwendolin boosts its attack speed and ring size from level 5, and more again at level 18, which makes her its best hero.
Is it worth it?
Yes as mid-game cleanup and in Races. Purple bloons and MOABs need other towers, so treat it as part of a defense.
