The Tack Zone

The Tack Zone doubles tacks per shot from 16 to 32, cuts the cooldown by 40% to about 0.22 seconds, extends range from 23 to 30, and gives every tack +1 damage against MOAB-class bloons. With Super Range Tacks, range rises to 50 and each tack gets +8 pierce.

When to buy it

The Tack Zone is a map-dependent tower. On maps with good loops and bends, like Dark Dungeons, it is strong; on maps like Peninsula it is weak. Like Overdrive, it should be placed so the track passes over its deadzone. On some water maps it can sit on a Carrier Flagship platform to reach the track.

It needs buffs to reach its potential. Geraldo with Sharpening Stone and Jar of Pickles, Primary Training, damage buffs from the Alchemist line, and Embrittlement or Super Brittle all boost it enormously.

• 2-0-5 is the speed build, about 0.13 seconds per burst.
• 0-2-5 has 50 range and 10 pierce per tack for much better coverage.

Is it worth it?

Yes, on the right map with buffs. It is less cost-efficient than spamming Overdrives, but much more space-efficient and easier to buff. Compared with Inferno Ring it has stronger concentrated damage, and compared with Super Maelstrom it gives constant damage instead of bursts. It performs well against boss bloons except Vortex, which makes it useful in Boss Events, and in CHIMPS it is a strong late-game damage tower when supported.
