How to use Hot Shot

Hot Shot sets the grapes on fire. They now pop Lead and Frozen Bloons, but no longer damage Purple Bloons, and every grape applies a burn that deals 2 damage every 1.5 seconds for about 3 seconds.

On higher tiers the burn grows a lot: Aircraft Carrier and Favored Trades raise it to 4 damage per tick, and Carrier Flagship and Trade Empire raise it to 9.

When to buy it

Hot Shot is good against early Leads and for chipping away at tougher Bloons. The 0-2-2 Buccaneer is a cheap and reliable answer to Camo Leads.

The burn does not stack between boats, so one Hot Shot is usually enough for burn damage. Typical uses:

  • One 3-2-0 Destroyer among several 3-1-0s, to cover Lead and spread burn.
  • 4-2-0 and 5-2-0 on the top path when the main boat reaches the track; with outside Camo detection, the burning grapes can even pop DDTs.
  • 0-2-4 Favored Trades and 0-2-5 Trade Empire when the money boats need to defend too.

It is also the step to Cannon Ship, Monkey Pirates and Pirate Lord.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as a cheap Lead answer and as a crosspath for the top and bottom paths. Do not stack several Hot Shot boats just for the burn.
