Lord of the Abyss

Lord of the Abyss fully unleashes the Abyssal Creature. Tentacles deal 32 damage (+6 to ceramics) with 50 pierce, slap twice as wide and attack every 1.5 seconds. The tridents attack twice as fast with 9 pierce, and splashes deal 10 damage. Range grows from 28 to 32, and the pierce buff to nearby towers doubles to +40%. It also lets you place water towers on land within its range, the opposite of Arctic Wind.

When to buy it

On its own it is a fairly weak cleanup tier 5 for $23,000. Its value comes from what it does for other towers:

• Spike Factories gain a lot from +40% pierce, especially Carpet of Spikes and Perma-Spike. Spike Storm spam with Lord of the Abyss is a strong setup in boss events.
• The land-to-water effect lets you place water towers like Monkey Subs and Buccaneers on maps with little or no water, and it helps when building water-based Paragons, especially the Monkey Sub Paragon.

Crosspath 5-0-2 for camo detection and homing tridents, or 5-2-0 if you want more tentacle pierce and freezing splashes.

Is it worth it?

As a support tower, yes, and it is cheap for a tier 5. In CHIMPS it is worth it mainly with Spike Factories or water towers that need land space. Compared with Popseidon or The Final Harmonic, it is the best pick when your defense depends on pierce.
