How to use Trident Swiftness
Trident Swiftness cuts the trident cooldown by another 25%, for a total of 40% less cooldown than a base Mermonkey (about 67% more attacks). Tridents also fly 50% faster, but their lifespan drops so they reach about the same distance.
Despite the description, the bonus carries over to other attacks when crosspathed:
- Alluring Melody and above: the trance pulls bloons in another 10% faster.
- Riptide Champion and above: tridents gain size and damage 50% faster while traveling, making up for the shorter lifespan.
When to buy it
Buy it as a crosspath on high-tier Mermonkeys that want maximum attack speed, such as Riptide Champion and its upgrades (2-3-0, 2-4-0, 2-5-0) or the trance path (2-0-3 and above).
On low-tier Mermonkeys it is less important. It also leads into Abyss Dweller.
Expect the biggest gain on Riptide Champion and its upgrades, where faster tridents also grow in damage more quickly.
Is it worth it?
Yes, as the top crosspath on most strong Mermonkey builds.
