Arctic Knight

Arctic Knight unlocks Ice Jet, an ability that makes the Mermonkey stop throwing tridents and spray ice balls straight ahead for 3 seconds. Each ice ball deals 20 frigid damage with 240 pierce, freezes up to three layers of non-MOAB bloons for 3 seconds and bounces off walls. By default it aims at bloons anywhere based on targeting, but you can lock it to a direction with the Monkey Special. The cooldown is 45 seconds.

The tridents improve too: base damage goes from 4 to 8, with +4 to frozen bloons and +8 to MOAB-class bloons, and they scale up faster as they travel.

When to buy it

Arctic Knight is at its best on maps with walls and obstacles, where bouncing ice balls hit the same bloons many times. Dark Dungeons is the standout example. Fire Ice Jet into dense waves or narrow corridors to get the most pierce out of it.

Like Riptide Champion, it leaves White and Zebra Bloons behind, so pair it with a fast tower that pops frozen bloons, such as Juggernaut. Crosspath 2-4-0 in most cases for coverage, or 0-4-2 for homing tridents and camo.

Is it worth it?

Yes on obstacle-heavy maps, where the ability is very strong for $8,000. On open maps it is fine but less impressive.
