How to use Tidal Chill
Tidal Chill makes the Mermonkey's trident splashes 50% bigger and lets them freeze the bloons they hit for 0.5 seconds, through up to four layers. It only freezes bloons the splash can damage and has no effect on MOAB-class bloons.
When to buy it
It is a minor upgrade that adds a little control, slowing bloons (including White and Purple) for a moment. As a crosspath it does very little, since the extra attacks of the other paths do not benefit.
The real reason to buy it is Riptide Champion, the tier 3 that turns the middle path into a strong damage dealer.
It adds no damage, so it will not change how fast a low-tier Mermonkey pops bloons.
Is it worth it?
Only as the step to Riptide Champion.
