Legend of the Night

Legend of the Night adds the Black Hole, a passive ability that activates when a bloon leaks. For 8 seconds no lives are lost from leaks (Boss Bloons excluded). The Black Hole has a 180 second cooldown, can trigger at most twice per round, starts ready, pauses while the tower is sold and does not reset if you buy the tower again.

The blades also get much stronger: damage 2 to 10, ceramic bonus +2 to +4, MOAB-class bonus +3 to +25, camo bonus +2 to +4, +8 pierce and 15 more ricochet jumps.

When to buy it

This is a $165,650 upgrade, so it belongs in freeplay, boss events and heavily farmed games. Common uses:

• Boss events with tier restrictions, where a single strong tower is valuable.
• Bosses whose minions rush the exit, where the Black Hole saves lives while the rest of your defense catches up.
• Freeplay, as a lives safety net once your defense starts to crack.
• The VTSG, which needs Legend of the Night and The Anti-Bloon on the map outside the Sun Temple's range.

Keep the 2-0-5 crosspath for attack speed. Ability cooldown reductions from heroes or other support make the Black Hole trigger more often.

Is it worth it?

As a damage dealer it is one of the strongest single upgrades, but the price is enormous; in CHIMPS other options give more for less. In freeplay, the VTSG deals more damage than LotN plus True Sun God together, so many players use LotN as the final insurance and sell the VTSG late to keep going.
