How to use Plasma Blasts

Plasma Blasts makes the Super Monkey fire 50% faster, grows its projectiles from size 5 to 6, and turns the damage type into plasma. Plasma pops lead, so a 2-x-x Super finally handles Lead Bloons and DDT-style armor checks, but it still cannot touch Purple Bloons.

When to buy it

Plasma Blasts is the attack speed crosspath for the whole tower. It is the standard top-path pick for Robo Monkey and Dark Knight builds that want raw damage (2-3-0, 2-0-3, 2-0-4), and Dark Champion in particular gets much more out of the faster swings than from the middle path. Buy it when you are about to upgrade into one of those tier 3s or 4s, or directly before saving for Sun Avatar.

By itself a 2-0-0 Super is weak for the money: low pierce, middling damage, and it needs the next tier to justify the price. Alchemist buffs also run out quickly on a tower that shoots this fast.

Is it worth it?

Yes as a crosspath for Dark Champion, Dark Knight and Robo damage builds, and as the required step to Sun Avatar. As a standalone purchase it is not worth $2,500; put that money toward a full tier 3 instead.
