How to use Grandmaster Ninja
Grandmaster Ninja throws eight shurikens per attack (nine with Deadly Tranquility) over a 72 degree spread. Each shuriken deals 2 damage instead of 1, the attack cooldown halves from 0.434 to 0.217 seconds, and range grows from 40 to 50 units. Compared with Bloonjitsu that is more than three times the raw output from a single spot.
When to buy it
Grandmaster Ninja is a late-game investment at $35,000. Without buffs it is surprisingly inefficient; several Bloonjitsus deal more for the same cash. The point of the upgrade is that it lets you stack every buff on one tower:
- A large Shinobi Tactics army (16 to 20 stacks) for attack speed and pierce.
- Alchemist Berserker Brew or Permanent Brew.
- Monkey Village support and Glue Strike for dense rounds and DDTs.
Use the bottom crosspath, 5-0-2, so Seeking Shuriken and Caltrops add range, homing and extra single-target damage. The middle crosspath is mostly redundant because a Shinobi army already provides blowback and camo stripping.
Is it worth it?
In a Ninja-centric build, yes: a fully stacked Grandmaster carries late game rounds and is a common late-game end point after Bloonjitsu. Shurikens still cannot pop lead, so plan coverage for lead and DDT armor. In CHIMPS it is viable on maps with room for Shinobis, but space-restricted maps make it hard to use. Against bosses Master Bomber is usually the better single tier 5 Ninja.
