How to use Sharp Shurikens

Sharp Shurikens adds +2 pierce to the Ninja Monkey's shuriken, for 4 pierce in total without other upgrades. Together with Ninja Discipline it turns a single Ninja into a solid early-game tower that handles grouped bloons and camo leaks.

When to buy it

Buy it early, right after Ninja Discipline, when you rely on the Ninja for early rounds. Paired with Seeking Shuriken (2-0-1), the extra pierce is not wasted on spread-out bloons because every shuriken homes in on a target. It is also the required step into Double Shot.

For tier 3 and above builds on other paths, Sharp Shurikens matters less. Middle path Ninjas sometimes take it for a bit more consistency against groups, but the bottom path mostly benefits from the extra attack speed of Ninja Discipline instead.

Is it worth it?

Yes in the early game and as the route to Double Shot, Bloonjitsu and Grandmaster Ninja. As a late crosspath it is usually not the best choice.
