How to use Caltrops

Caltrops gives the Ninja a second attack: every 3.9 seconds it throws caltrops onto any track within its range and line of sight. Each caltrop deals 1 damage, has 6 pierce and lasts 35 seconds, but they disappear when the round ends.

When to buy it

The extra damage is small at first, but caltrops build up during a round and work as an early safety net behind your main defense. Their real value comes from buffs: since they deal 1 damage and can hit repeatedly, damage and pierce buffs from Berserker Brew or a Shinobi army make them much stronger.

Common crosspaths are 5-0-2 Grandmaster Ninja, 4-0-2 Bloonjitsu and 0-3-2 Shinobi armies, where caltrops add extra damage against fortified ceramics. It is also the step to Flash Bomb.

Is it worth it?

Yes as a cheap crosspath on buffed Ninjas. On an unbuffed Ninja it adds little.
