How to use Shimmer
Shimmer gives the Wizard an aura that removes camo from every bloon type it touches, DDTs included. The aura deals no damage, has 500 pierce, triggers every 2 seconds and reaches 25% farther than the Wizard range (75 units without buffs). The Wizard also gets 10 more range, going from 50 to 60.
With Guided Magic, the aura can detect camo bloons behind obstacles. Without it, it can still decamo bloons behind blockers if a visible camo triggers it.
When to buy it
Shimmer is slow and more expensive than other decamo options. It struggles with DDTs and fast camo rounds such as 47, 48 and 53, because bloons can pass between pulses. Its huge pierce does make it reliable in races.
Faster and more controllable alternatives include the Mortar Monkey's Signal Flare and the Monkey Sub's Submerge and Support.
In most games, treat Shimmer as a step toward Necromancer: Unpopped Army and Prince of Darkness, which fires the aura twice as often.
Crosspaths: 0-2-3 for the extra damage from Fireball and Wall of Fire, or 1-0-3 if obstacles block its view.
Is it worth it?
Only as part of the bottom path. If you just need decamo, other towers do it better for less.
Frequently asked questions
Can Shimmer decamo DDTs?

Does Shimmer pop bloons?
No. It only removes camo.
How much does Shimmer cost?
