How to use Wizard Lord Phoenix
Wizard Lord Phoenix gives the Wizard a permanent phoenix, identical to the one from Summon Phoenix, and replaces the ability with a transformation. For 20 seconds the Wizard becomes a Lava Phoenix that circles the center of the screen with unlimited range. Its flames deal 20 damage with 50 pierce every 0.1 seconds, and every second it fires 8 meteors in all directions, each dealing 50 damage with 300 pierce. The flames cannot pop purple bloons, but the meteors hit every type. The cooldown stays at 45 seconds. While transformed, the Wizard stops its other attacks, but the permanent phoenix keeps going.
Other attacks improve too: fireball explosions go from 3 to 9 damage, Wall of Fire from 1 to 5, and Dragon's Breath fires 3 flames with 15 pierce and a much stronger burn that deals 30 damage over 15 seconds.
When to buy it
Wizard Lord Phoenix costs $50,000 on Medium. It depends heavily on timing: the ability must line up with the hardest waves, and you cannot stall a round to get extra uses, because the global phoenix keeps popping bloons. Its non-ability attacks are fairly weak for the price.
- 2-5-0: preferred. Seeking flames for the Lava Phoenix (not the meteors) and more damage outside the ability.
- 0-5-2: when you need extra range and built-in camo detection.
Is it worth it?
Honestly, it is one of the weaker tier 5s for its price. For bursts of long-range damage, the Dart Monkey's Plasma Monkey Fan Club usually does the job better because it can spread out across lanes. Its main standout use is Least Tiers in Contested Territory and custom challenges. In CHIMPS, Archmage or Prince of Darkness are usually better Wizard picks.
