How to use Monkey Sense

Monkey Sense gives the Wizard camo detection and 10 more range, about 25% of its base range. With Archmage, it also makes the Shimmer projectiles about 17% larger.

When to buy it

Monkey Sense is a solid source of built-in camo detection. The classic use is the 0-2-2 Wall of Fire, a cheap and reliable way to pop groups of camos, including camo leads.

As a crosspath it is the default for many builds:

  • 3-0-2, 4-0-2, 5-0-2: Arcane Mastery, Arcane Spike and Archmage with camo, range and pierce.
  • 0-3-2, 0-4-2, 0-5-2: Dragon's Breath and both phoenix upgrades. The phoenix also gains camo popping.

It also leads into Shimmer and the Necromancer path.

Is it worth it?

Yes. At $300 on Medium, camo detection plus range is excellent value. Skip it only when another tower already handles camo and you want Guided Magic or the other path instead.
