Stormwrath Archon

Stormwrath Archon raises the bonus against MOAB-class, Ceramic and Lead Bloons from +3 to +9. Combo chain lightning goes from 3 to 50 damage, and the combo stun hit from 10 to 100 damage. Spent arrows now leave lightning rods on the nearest track, lasting 12 seconds. When a Bloon near a rod is hit by an Energy or Plasma attack, the rod lashes out with lightning. Thunder Charge gets a 30-second cooldown instead of 45, and while active it creates lightning that jumps between rods, damaging and sometimes stunning Bloons caught between them.

When to buy it

Stormwrath Archon is a synergy tier 5. On its own it is not worth its cost; with the right partners it is very strong.

• Fast Sharp or Shatter towers trigger the 50-damage combo lightning on marked Bloons. Good examples are Overdrive, The Tack Zone and Sentry Champion.
• Energy and Plasma towers, such as a Sun Avatar, trigger the lightning rods.
• In Boss Events and Freeplay, a well-built setup can produce huge damage, but the many effects can cause lag.

Crosspath 1-5-0 or 2-5-0 for range and Camo, or 0-5-2 with Icebore for extra frozen damage.

How it compares

• Farwind Seer is the self-sufficient damage tier 5.
• Winter's Mercy relies on freezing towers.
• Stormwrath Archon relies on projectile towers, and is the strongest of the three when the defense is built around it.

Is it worth it?

Only in a defense designed for it. In CHIMPS, Farwind Seer is usually the safer choice unless you already run fast Sharp or Energy towers.
