Winter’s Mercy

Winter's Mercy doubles arrow damage to 4 and the frozen bonus to +8, and doubles the shrapnel frozen bonus to +12. It gains +1 damage for every 3 frozen Bloons in range, up to +8, and another +1 damage for 6 seconds for every 3 frozen Bloons it pops. Icesplosive remains double in radius (12 to 24) and deal 10 damage instead of 3. Remains left by popped blimps get much stronger: +50 damage from a MOAB, +100 from a DDT, +150 from a BFB, +400 from a ZOMG and +10,000 from a BAD (Boss Bloons excluded).

When to buy it

Winter's Mercy is the most demanding Skywarden tier 5:

• It depends on landing the final hit on frozen Bloons to chain its iceplosions. If other towers steal those pops, its damage collapses.
• Its bonus damage from frozen Bloons is fairly small for the price, and its pierce stays low even with Icebore.
• Snowstorm and Absolute Zero are the preferred supports, because they freeze a lot of Bloons in range without popping them.
• Path 1 crosspaths (1-0-5 or 2-0-5) are preferred in most cases for range and Camo.

How it compares

• Farwind Seer is self-sufficient and much easier to use.
• Stormwrath Archon is stronger in projectile-heavy defenses.
• Winter's Mercy only competes in a dedicated ice setup where it reliably gets the last hit.

Is it worth it?

Usually not. It is awkward and expensive for what it does in most games. In a carefully built ice defense it can work, and the BAD iceplosion bonus is a fun trick in CHIMPS if you can freeze and pop blimp layers with it, but Farwind Seer is the safer pick.
