How to use Total Transformation
Total Transformation makes the Transforming Tonic ability also turn the five closest eligible towers into small laser-firing monsters for 20 seconds. The ability cooldown drops from 60 to 40 seconds. Transformed towers lose most of their own upgrades for the duration but keep most buffs they have, and they ignore line-of-sight blockers. The Alchemist itself still transforms too, and its own monster benefits from crosspaths, while the mini monsters do not.
When to buy it
Total Transformation is a burst damage tool, similar in role to Plasma Monkey Fan Club. It affects fewer towers but works on many more tower types, which means the transformed towers can carry buffs that a Fan Club cannot use. Use it in two steps:
- Stall the round with something strong, such as Absolute Zero or MOAB Shove on a single blimp.
- Fire the ability when the bloons are bunched up in range.
The best partners are towers with stacking type-based buffs: Druids of Wrath with Poplust and Obyn, or Ninjas with Shinobi Tactics. Transformed Shinobis stop giving their own buff while transformed, so place a few extra to keep the stacks maxed. Crosspath 0-5-1, since faster attacks on the main monster matter far more than extra pierce.
Is it worth it?
It can be very strong with the right setup but asks for planning, and the 40 second cooldown means you need stalling between uses. In CHIMPS it is a niche late-game option. In boss events it shines as a damage debuff partner for Grand Saboteur and similar setups. Against tier 5 alternatives like Permanent Brew, it trades permanent value for timed burst.
