How to use Heavy Shells
Heavy Shells makes the Mortar fire about 33% faster and changes its damage to the Normal type, so it can pop every visible bloon type, including black and lead. Shells also gain bonus damage: +1 to lead (including visible DDTs), MOAB-class and fortified bloons, +2 to stunned bloons and +3 to ceramics. These bonuses stack. With Burny Stuff, each burn tick deals 4 damage instead of 1.
When to buy it
Heavy Shells is a strong early-game tower that pops everything. With Increased Accuracy, it also handles camo. Place the target on the best loop of the track and retarget when a dangerous clump appears.
- 2-3-0: Bloon Buster damage. The usual choice and great at the start of races.
- 0-3-2: the burn crosspath, which deals heavy damage over time.
- 0-3-1: Increased Accuracy for camo, when no other camo source is available.
Is it worth it?
Yes. For $900 it is one of the best early all-type poppers, and it is the step toward Artillery Battery. Combine it with towers that stun bloons to use the bonus damage.
