Bigger Blast

Bigger Blast adds 20 pierce to every Mortar shell and makes all its explosions 1.4 times larger. The main blast radius goes from 20 to 28. Several bottom-path upgrades get extra bonuses from it:

• Signal Flare: the decamo blast gains 40 pierce.
• Shattering Shells: the de-regrow and de-fortify blast gains 20 pierce.
• Blooncineration: the walls of fire gain pierce and a larger radius.

When to buy it

On its own, Bigger Blast is strongest in the early game of races, where a cheap pierce boost lets you send rounds faster. In normal games it is usually a stepping stone or crosspath.

If you take it as a crosspath, it is almost always worth continuing to Bloon Buster for the extra damage. Typical builds:

• 2-0-3 / 2-0-4 / 2-0-5: bigger, stronger blasts and burns on the bottom path.
• 2-5-0 / 2-4-0: bigger, harder-hitting shells on Artillery Battery and Pop and Awe.

The larger decamo blast on Signal Flare (1-0-3) only matters when the flare would otherwise run out of pierce, which is uncommon outside races and round 78.

Is it worth it?

At $300 it is a cheap step into the top path. Buy it when you are heading to Bloon Buster or Shell Shock, not as a standalone boost.
