How to use Twin Guns
Twin Guns doubles the Sub's dart attack speed, cutting the cooldown from 0.75 to 0.375 seconds. As a crosspath it also speeds up other attacks: Ballistic Missiles fire about 14% faster, and the submerged pulses of Submerge and Support and Bloontonium Reactor fire about 42% faster.
When to buy it
It is a big damage boost for little money, and it makes the Sub more consistent because it fires more often. In CHIMPS a 0-0-1 Sub is well worth buying early if you plan to get Airburst Darts soon, since Airburst carries much of the early game.
As a crosspath:
- 3-0-1 Submerge and Support: the only crosspath that really helps a submerged Sub, making de-camo far more reliable.
- 4-0-1 Bloontonium Reactor outside Races, and 5-0-1 Energizer in almost every case.
- 0-3-1 and higher on the middle path when the Sub's own range already reaches every lane, though going on to Airburst Darts is usually better for cleanup.
Is it worth it?
Yes. It is one of the most efficient cheap upgrades on the Sub and the first step to the strong bottom path.
