How to use Longer Range

Longer Range adds 10 units of range to the Monkey Sub. Nothing else changes: same darts, same damage, same pierce.

When to buy it

On its own the extra range is rarely worth the money. Its real job is unlocking Advanced Intel, which lets the Sub shoot at Bloons inside other towers' range and is one of the most valuable crosspaths for the tower.

Where it fits:

  • 1-0-2 and 2-0-2 Airburst Darts, and every bottom path Sub above it. Most of these builds want Advanced Intel anyway.
  • 1-3-0 or 2-3-0 Ballistic Missile on maps with alternating lanes, where the Sub needs global reach to attack every round. On maps where its base range already covers the track, the bottom crosspath is better.

If you buy Longer Range as a crosspath, plan to continue to Advanced Intel. Stopping at tier 1 leaves most of the value on the table.

Is it worth it?

As a standalone upgrade, no. As the first half of the Advanced Intel crosspath, yes.
