How to use Thorn Swarm
Thorn Swarm makes the Druid throw 8 thorns per attack instead of 5, in the same spread. For $250 that is 60% more projectiles from the main attack.
When to buy it
Early, it helps a Druid cover more bloons. Later it is the preferred crosspath for bottom path Druids: Druid of Wrath, Poplust and Avatar of Wrath (0-1-3, 0-1-4, 0-1-5) all benefit, because every extra thorn gets the full value of damage and pierce buffs from Poplusts, Alchemist brews and Obyn.
It is less useful for top path Druids, whose storm attacks gain nothing from extra thorns. It leads into Heart of Oak and Druid of the Jungle.
On a Druid of Wrath, the extra thorns also deal more total damage per attack, which builds wrath stacks faster.
Is it worth it?
Yes on bottom path Druids. On storm Druids, skip it.
