How to use Heart of Thunder

Heart of Thunder gives the Druid a second attack: a lightning bolt every 2.3 seconds that deals 2 damage and forks to nearby bloons, even through obstacles. Each hit splits into up to two forks, so one bolt can hit as many as 31 bloons. The lightning cannot pop Purple Bloons and its pierce cannot be buffed.

When to buy it

It adds a lot of spread damage for $850, which helps against wide groups of weak bloons. The forks tend to jump across the map rather than staying near the Druid, so do not count on it for reliable cleanup in a specific spot.

It is the required step to Druid of the Storm, Ball Lightning and Monarch of Storms. As a crosspath it matters most on Avatar of Wrath (2-0-5), where the lightning gets the Avatar's attack speed and damage bonus. On middle path Druids it adds little; 2-2-0 can help remove regrow on a budget, but Druid of the Jungle usually handles that better.

Is it worth it?

Yes as a step to the storm path and as the Avatar of Wrath crosspath. On its own it is a modest upgrade.
