How to use Ultra-Juggernaut
Ultra-Juggernaut is the cheapest way to get a tier 5 Dart Monkey, and on the right map it hits far above its price. The main ball now deals 5 damage with 210 pierce (up from 60) and gets big bonus damage: +20 against lead, +8 against ceramics and +5 against fortified bloons. When it hits a wall or uses up half its pierce, it splits into 6 smaller juggernaut balls, and it splits into another 6 when it expires. Each smaller ball has 2 damage and 50 pierce with the normal Juggernaut ceramic bonus, but it can only bounce once and has no knockback.
The main ball keeps Juggernaut's knockback and fires every second. Like the earlier tiers, it cannot see camo bloons without help.
When to buy it
Ultra-Juggernaut shines on maps full of obstacles, such as Cornfield, Hedge or Encrypted, where its balls and splits keep bouncing back into the track. There it shreds ceramic rushes and lower-tier MOAB-class bloons for a fraction of the price of most tier 5s. It is also a very strong pick in Races, where its pierce supports large round sends.
- 5-2-0 is the standard crosspath and gives the most damage, with the cooldown falling to about 0.67 seconds.
- 5-0-2 adds camo detection and range, but camo support is cheap to buy elsewhere, so it is rarely the better choice.
Is it worth it?
On obstacle maps it is one of the best value tier 5s in the game. On open maps, where the balls cannot bounce, it falls well behind and you should look at other options.
Compared with the other dart tier 5s, Crossbow Master is easier to place and pops everything, but needs a lot of buffs. Plasma Monkey Fan Club is far stronger in bursts but needs a big investment in extra Dart Monkeys. In CHIMPS, Ultra-Juggernaut works as a mid-to-late game damage tower on the right map but needs strong MOAB support for the BFBs, ZOMGs and BADs of the final rounds. In Boss Events it is a niche choice, only worth it when the map lets it ricochet into the boss repeatedly.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ultra-Juggernaut good?
Very good on maps with lots of walls and in Races, average to weak on open maps. Map choice decides whether it is worth buying.
What is the best crosspath for Ultra-Juggernaut?
5-2-0 for damage. 5-0-2 only when you have no other camo detection.
Can Ultra-Juggernaut pop camo bloons?
Not on its own. Use 5-0-2 or an outside camo source such as a Monkey Village with Radar Scanner.
How much does Ultra-Juggernaut cost?
$15,000 on Medium, one of the cheapest tier 5 upgrades. Prices for every difficulty are shown on this page.
