Sharp Shots

Sharp Shots is the cheapest pierce upgrade in the game. Each dart goes from 2 pierce to 3, so one throw can pop one extra bloon. Nothing else changes: same damage, same attack speed, same range.

The bonus scales with later upgrades on the other paths. Crossbow and Sharp Shooter get +3 pierce from it instead of +1, and Crossbow Master gets +8. Monkeys transformed by Super Monkey Fan Club or Plasma Monkey Fan Club also keep the extra pierce.

When to buy it

On a lone 0-0-0 Dart Monkey it is a weak buy; an extra Dart Monkey usually adds more popping power for the money, especially with the Extra Dart Pops Monkey Knowledge. Treat Sharp Shots as the first half of a crosspath. You normally pass straight through it to Razor Sharp Shots for a 2-3-0 Triple Shot, 2-x-0 fan club darts, or a 2-0-4 / 2-0-5 crossbow build that wants to hit dense groups.

Is it worth it?

As a stepping stone, yes. It costs almost nothing and is required for Razor Sharp Shots, which is one of the best value crosspaths on the Dart Monkey. Buy it alone only if you need a tiny bit of extra pierce in the first few rounds.
