Razor Sharp Shots

Razor Sharp Shots raises dart pierce by another 2, taking a basic Dart Monkey from 3 to 5 pierce. Damage, speed and range stay the same. On the bottom path the bonus is much bigger: Crossbow and Sharp Shooter gain 5 more pierce (12 in total at 2-0-3 and 2-0-4), and Crossbow Master reaches 24 pierce at 2-0-5.

When to buy it

Buy it as a crosspath, not as a standalone tower. The common builds are:

• 2-3-0 Triple Shot, where three darts with 5 pierce each clear early groups far better than 0-3-2.
• 2-2-0 or 2-4-0 darts meant to be transformed by a fan club ability. Transformed monkeys inherit pierce upgrades, so 2-x-0 darts get a lot more value out of each transformation.
• 2-0-4 and 2-0-5 crossbows placed down a long straight, where extra pierce turns into extra pops on dense rounds.

It also unlocks Spike-o-pult if you are heading down the top path.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as long as the tower is going to a tier 3 or higher on another path. The 2-x-0 crosspath is the standard choice for Triple Shot and the fan club setups. For Crossbow lines it competes with 0-2-x attack speed, which is usually better for single-target damage, while 2-0-x wins when you have a straight line full of bloons.
