How to use Standoff

Standoff rewards single-target fights. With only one Bloon in range the Desperado attacks 60% faster. Every extra Bloon in range removes 10% of that bonus, so with 7 or more Bloons in range the bonus is gone. Like Quickdraw, it only counts Bloons the Desperado can actually target.

When to buy it

Standoff is strongest on rounds that send one big target at a time, such as single MOABs or a lone Ceramic, and weakest against dense rushes. Typical builds:

  • 2-x-0 on the middle path, where it pairs with the long-range rifle and single-target damage of Deadeye and Bounty Hunter.
  • 2-0-3 and up on the bottom path, which gets better single-target damage and knockback, but gives up Camo detection and crits.
  • It is also the required step to Big Iron, which doubles the Standoff bonus.

When the Desperado has more than one weapon, Standoff only counts Bloons inside the range of the weapon it is using at that moment.

Is it worth it?

Yes as a crosspath for Desperados that fight big single targets. Against dense rounds the bonus mostly disappears, so don't expect it to help with cleanup.
