How to use Quickdraw

Quickdraw gives the Desperado an attack speed bonus based on distance. It gains 1% attack speed for every unit between itself and the closest Bloon it can target, up to +50% when that Bloon is at least 50 units away. Bloons it cannot target, such as Camo Bloons without detection or Bloons behind line-of-sight blockers, do not count.

When to buy it

The whole upgrade is about placement. Put the Desperado where most of what it can see is far away, so the nearest Bloon is rarely close. Range buffs help because the bonus starts working sooner.

As a crosspath it is one of the best cheap speed boosts for the tower:

  • Middle path (2-3-0, 2-4-0, 2-5-0): Bullseye's crit chance also grows with distance, so both upgrades reward the same long-range placement.
  • Top path: Big Iron, Twin Sixes and The Blazing Sun all get faster when placed back from the track.
  • Bottom path (2-0-3 and up): helps the pistol fire faster before Bloons reach shotgun range.

Is it worth it?

Yes. It is cheap, and on a well-placed Desperado it is close to a free 50% speed boost. It is the reason most Desperado builds want a spot a little away from the track rather than right on it.
