How to use Big Iron
Big Iron upgrades the pistol to a six-shot revolver. Each burst now fires 6 shots instead of 2, damage per shot rises from 1 to 2 and the damage type changes so it can pop Lead Bloons. Because the tower has to fire all six shots before its cooldown starts, each full burst takes a little longer. Standoff is doubled: up to +120% attack speed with a single Bloon in range, dropping by 20% per extra Bloon.
When to buy it
Big Iron is decent single-target damage for the mid-game when placed away from the track so Quickdraw and Standoff stay active. It is especially good on rounds with one blimp at a time, like round 40's MOAB. Set targeting to Strong to focus the high-health Bloons.
3-2-0 is the preferred crosspath. Bullseye's 4x crits let it one-shot Rainbows and its crit chance grows with distance, matching Quickdraw. 3-0-2 adds raw speed, but because the revolver fires each burst at a fixed rate, speed buffs help it less than you would expect.
Is it worth it?
It is a fair mid-game single-target tower and a needed step toward Twin Sixes and The Blazing Sun. It does not handle groups well, so pair it with something that cleans up.
